A man has admitted shooting and killing a father-of-three at a salvage yard in Lanarkshire.
Scott Percy, 29, was on trial accused of the murder of Victor Yuill, 47, at the Woodside Salvage yard in Rigside on 28 January.
However, at the High Court in Edinburgh the Crown accepted his guilty plea to culpable homicide.
Three other men remain on trial for the murder of Mr Yuill. Percy will now be available as a witness in the case.
The 29-year-old admitted assaulting Mr Yuill and repeatedly discharging a firearm at him and shooting him on the head and killing him.
Percy also pled guilty to being concerned in the supply of cannabis between October and December 2006 at Carradale Cottage, Lanark and at a house in Kelvin Gardens, in Hamilton.
Pleas accepted
He also admitted a theft charge and offences involving counterfeit £20 notes.
An allegation that Percy had conspired with others to murder Mr Yuill, John Loughlin, now deceased, and Andrew Patton was taken out of the charges.
The trial judge, Lord Carloway, told jurors that following the acceptance of pleas from Percy by the Crown they would not have to deliberate on matters concerning him.
The three men who remain on trial for the murder of Mr Yuill are John Graham, 21, Russell Dewar, 34, and James Duncan, 60. All deny the charges.
They are also accused of conspiring to murder him, Mr Loughlin and Mr Patton.
The trial continues.
