The company employs about 2,500 people in Scotland
Call centre firm beCogent said it has secured a deal with House of Fraser that will lead to 30 new jobs.

The £2m contract, over three years, will allow the company to expand its headquarters in Airdrie.

Founded in 1999, beCogent has become one of Scotland's largest call centre employers, with about 2,500 staff and other sites in Erskine and Kilmarnock.

The firm will provide staff, training and infrastructure to support House of Fraser's new website.

It will also co-ordinate some customer services systems.

'High principles'

John Devlin, commercial and operations director at beCogent, said: "Securing this contract is a significant success for beCogent.

"House of Fraser is a quality UK retailer with extremely high principles and we are proud that we are able to offer a service that meets with its standards.

"Bringing such a prestigious client on board is testament to the hard work and unrivalled service levels offered by everyone in the beCogent team."

The company was named Employer of the Year at the Orange National Business Awards for Scotland in 2006 and short listed for the Investors in People Workplace of the Year 2007.
