Bakery admits charges after death
Glasgow Sheriff Court
The case at Glasgow Sheriff Court was continued until November
A bakery firm has admitted three health and safety charges after the death of a worker in one of its factories.

Graham Meldrum, 40, died after he was struck by his lorry while unloading bread baskets at Allied Bakery, in Maryhill, Glasgow, on 12 July, 2005.

A solicitor for TNT Logistics - another company charged - denied four health and safety charges.

Sheriff Deirdre MacNeill QC adjourned the case against both companies until November this year.

The court was told that discussions were continuing between TNT's defence team and prosecutors.

A lawyer for ABF Grain Products Limited, which owns the Maryhill factory, entered guilty pleas at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

The charges included failure to provide proper training and not ensuring equipment was in good working order.
