Man charged over schoolboy death

A man has been charged with the murder of a schoolboy who was stabbed to death in Gourock.

Darren Pyper, 14, died after an incident at a friend's house in Gourock, Inverclyde, last week.

Three other people were also injured in the disturbance at the property in Albert Road on Wednesday, 19 September.

William Brown, 64, also faces a charge of attempted murder, one of assault, and a breach of the peace charge. He is being held in custody.

He was charged during an appearance at Greenock Sheriff Court on Thursday.
