Ballet company appeals to public
Scottish Ballet
The new home of Scottish Ballet is due to open in 2009
Scottish Ballet has appealed to the public for their backing to help raise the final 1m needed to create its new home.

The company has already begun work on a new 11m building at the Tramway performing arts centre in Glasgow.

It is currently based in a dilapidated Army drill hall in the West End of Glasgow.

The appeal was backed by BBC Newsnight presenter Kirsty Wark, who said Scottish Ballet was a "national asset".

The new building, which is due to be completed in 2009, will feature three large rehearsal rooms and fitness areas.
