City bridges fail standards test
George Square
About 70 of Glasgow's bridges did not meet the standards
Drivers may face traffic chaos after 69 road bridges in Glasgow failed to meet European standards.

A new report revealed it could cost Glasgow City Council about £100m to carry out the necessary repairs.

Commuters could be hit by major traffic problems, with weight restrictions and diversions imposed on almost a third of the city's bridges.

The latest study by Audit Scotland showed Glasgow almost bottom of a league table of the nation's bridges.
