Man's death prompts murder hunt

Police have launched a murder investigation after the death of a 35-year-old man.

Scott Byers was found with numerous injuries after officers were called to a house in Jedburgh Street, Blantyre, at about 0500 BST on Saturday.

He was taken to Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride, where he later died.

Strathclyde Police appealed for anyone who was in the area between 0430 BST and 0515 BST to contact them if they saw anything suspicious.

A report is due to be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
