A former First Lady of Glasgow has died at the age of 65 after losing her battle with cancer.
Peggy Lally was a well-known figure in the city and the wife of Glasgow's former Lord Provost Pat Lally.
Mrs Lally died at 0700 BST on Thursday at the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow.
A family friend said Mr Lally, a former councillor, would still stand as a candidate on the Glasgow list for the Senior Citizens Unity Party.
Lord Provost Liz Cameron said: "Peggy and Pat have always been good friends to both myself and my husband Duncan, not to mention their love for the city of Glasgow.
"I'm deeply saddened to hear this news and my immediate thoughts and love go to Pat and the boys."

She was an utterly extraordinary woman. She was very feisty, funny and dedicated so much of her life to other folk

Mrs Lally fully supported her husband's bid to represent the senior citizens party as the welfare of the elderly was a cause close to her heart.
Neil Baxter, a friend of the Lally family, said: "Peggy had said that if anyone did anything to try to persuade Pat from standing, she would have come back and haunted them.
"Pat had said he wouldn't stand for the party after she became ill but she was adamant that he must stand.
"The welfare of senior citizens was central to her. She looked after her aunt, and in later years her own mother, who were both Alzheimers' sufferers.
"She was an utterly extraordinary woman. She was very feisty, funny and dedicated so much of her life to other folk."
