Woman dies after blaze at house

A woman has died following a fire in a house in Renfrewshire.

The middle-aged woman's body was found in the property in Holmes Avenue, Renfrew, at about 1300 BST on Friday.

Inquiries are continuing into the cause of the fire, but police said there did not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.

A post-mortem examination will be carried out on the remains of the woman, who has not yet been formally identified.
