A Govan man who was caught with a kilo of heroin has been jailed for seven years at the High Court in Glasgow.

The drug was found after police raided William Sinclair's flat at Harland Cottages, Glasgow, in September 2005.

The 38-year-old from Craigton Road was convicted of supplying heroin from two flats between July to September 2005.

Co-accused James Clark, 40, admitted supplying heroin from a flat at Glasgow Harbour Terrace and was jailed for three years and eight months.

The court heard that Sinclair was involved in dividing the drug into street deals.

Judge Lord Hodge told him: "You were involved with large amounts of heroin and have a bad criminal record.

"You became involved in drugs because you had built up significant debts because of your own dependency on them."
