Pedestrian dies in A77 road crash
A 43-year-old man has died following a road crash on the A77 on Friday evening.

The pedestrian was hit at about 2240 GMT by a 46-year-old woman 500 metres north of the Dutch House roundabout on the Glasgow to Portpatrick road.

Emergency services were called and the injured man was taken by ambulance to Crosshouse Hospital but died a short time afterwards.

The driver of the car was uninjured. Police enquires are ongoing.

The southbound carriageway of the A77 was closed until Saturday morning and local diversions were put in place.

A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
