The Princess Royal will board the Maid of the Loch at Balloch
Princess Anne has officially opened a refurbished winchhouse and slipway at Balloch on Loch Lomond.

During her visit to the Balloch Steam Slipway Complex, which was refurbished at a cost of £62,000, the Princess Royal boarded the Maid of the Loch.

She unveiled a commemorative plaque and met Loch Lomond Steamship Company volunteers who helped restore the ship and rebuild the slipway.

The winchhouse will open to the public for the first time this weekend.

The Balloch Steam Slipway Complex is a Grade A listed building.

The Loch Lomond Steamship Company aims to return the Maid of the Loch to operation.

It will be completely overhauled on the slipway before sailing again.
