Charity auction raises thousands

An art auction has raised £35,000 for Scottish charities.

BBC Reporting Scotland's David Robertson, Shareen Nanjiani, Carol Smillie and River City's Joyce Falconer supported Style at the Galleries.

Seven Scottish artworks were auctioned at the charity event at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.

A painting of Franz Ferdinand front man Alex Kapranos, eating a deep fried Mars bar, sold for £4,500, while a Peter Howson painting sold for £7,000.

Funds raised will be donated to seven charities - The Third Step, CHAS, ChildLine, the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice, Meningitis Trust, Yorkhill Children's Foundation and Maggie's Centre.

The event was organised by Buchanan Galleries.
