Police have launched a murder inquiry following the discovery of a man's body in Glasgow.
William Brown from Possilpark was found dead on Thursday morning in the Parkhouse area of the city.
Following a post-mortem examination, police officers said the 44-year-old had been subjected to a "sustained and brutal attack".
Detectives have urged a group of youths who may have witnessed the attack to get in touch.
Det Ch Insp Bob Law of Strathclyde Police said they were appealing for information about a blue coloured Fiat car seen in the area at about midnight on Wednesday.

He said: "William Brown was a local man and from what is known so far was well known in the area.
"I am keen to hear from anyone who saw William on Wednesday 19 July or in the early hours of Thursday 20 July.
"I am interested in a blue coloured Fiat car which was seen in the area of Broadholm Street in Parkhouse around midnight on Wednesday into Thursday.
"I am also anxious to hear from youths who were hanging around the Ashfield/Westray Street area on Wednesday night. They may be potential witnesses to the incident."
Mr Brown's body was discovered on a footpath within a park area, near a disused railway line, off Ashfield Street near Crowhill Street at 0715 BST on Thursday.
