Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum has undergone a £28m refit
Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum has been forced to remove swords from its gift shop after complaints from members of the public.

Glasgow City Council removed the ornamental replica weapons from sale after visitors to the attraction in the west end expressed concern.

The move comes two weeks after a knife amnesty and in the midst of a crackdown on violent crime involving weapons.

Kelvingrove reopened on Thursday after a three-year refurbishment.
