Environmental award for wind firm

Windsave turbines are being considered for homes in Glasgow

A Glasgow-based wind turbine company has won a European business award for the environment.

Windsave Limited, formed in 2002, won the best environmental product category for developing the Plug 'n' Save turbine for homes and businesses.

Graham Reed, of Windsave, said: "This is a tremendous accolade. We are excited about the result."

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency described the firm's efforts to reduce CO2 emissions as "innovative".

In 2004, Windsave won the Vision in Business for the Environment of Scotland award.

Last month, a housing association in north Glasgow said it was considering installing Plug 'n' Save in homes.
