Two brothers arrested in connection with the death of a Scots tourist on the Canary Islands have been released.

Engineer Brian Hobbs, 52, from Glasgow, was killed in a crowded bar on Fuerteventura last Thursday.

Ismail MA, a 24-year-old Spaniard from Melilla, on the north coast of Morocco, was released on bail but still faces undisclosed charges.

His brother, 30, who was also arrested in connection with Mr Hobbs' death, was released on Monday.

A Civil Guard detective said: "The investigation into the murder of this tourist is continuing at full pace.

"There could be developments very soon."

Mr Hobbs was attacked in the resort of Puerto Caleta while drinking alone.
