A cannabis farm with an estimated street value of £250,000 has been found following a raid on a house in Midlothian.

About 900 plants and cannabis growing equipment was discovered in the attic of the house in Newbridge.

It was raided by Lothian and Borders Police at 1700 GMT on Friday.

A police spokesman said it was an "extensive and well-established" cultivation and inquiries were still under way."

He added that the farm had the potential to "yield a sizeable profit for those behind the operation".

"Inquiries are ongoing in order to establish their identity, and we would welcome any information that can assist our inquiries," he said.
