An Edinburgh-based video security firm has reported half year pre-tax profits of £1.2m.

IndigoVision said although sales were up profits were flat due to an increase in spend on research and development.

The firm develops and makes internet-based video security systems which are used in airports, casinos and border crossings worldwide.

The firm has staff in 22 countries, with most of its 130 employees based at its headquarters in Edinburgh.

Although overall sales were up the company said there was a mixed picture with Asia Pacific, Latin America, Northern Europe and the UK growing whilst North America, Southern Europe and the Middle East performing at lower rates.

In a statement the company said although the economic outlook was uncertain with no clear pattern emerging, it was confident of its long-term future.
