Hotel wins top restaurant award

The Peat Inn near St Andrews was named as Scotland's best restaurant

The Peat Inn in Fife has been named as Scotland's restaurant of the year and its owner, Geoffrey Smeddle, was also handed the title chef of the year.

Two eateries in Leith won awards, with Restaurant Martin Wishart picking up the Best Fine Dining title and the King's Wark winning Best Pub Grub.

The award for the Best Newcomer went to Rocpool Reserve Hotel in Inverness.

The Best Customer Service tribute at the Scottish Restaurant Awards was won by Hotel Du Vin in Glasgow.
