Passenger dies in two-car-crash

A pensioner has died following a car crash on the outskirts of West Lothian.

Alexander Fairley, of Armadale, West Lothian, 68, died in hospital the day after the crash, which happened on Saturday at about 1440 GMT.

A Vauxhall Astra and a Nissan Almera crashed on the A803 Polmont to Linlithgow Road next to the Lathallan Roundabout.

The drivers of both cars were taken to hospital for treatment and later released.

Mr Fairley, who was a passenger in the Vauxhall Astra, was also taken to hospital but died the following day.

Sgt Bob Murphy, of Central Scotland Police, said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the collision to contact us. Our inquiries are currently ongoing."
