Man crushed to death by forklift

A farm labourer has been killed after being crushed under a forklift truck on a farm in East Lothian.

The 57-year-old man appears to have been hit by the machine while it was reversing at Greendykes Farm in Tranent.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokeswoman said he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident happened at 1055 GMT. The farm is listed under the company name Robert Steven and Son.

A Health and Safety Executive investigation has been launched.
