Police have released a photograph of an Edinburgh boy who has been missing for six days in a fresh appeal for information about him.

Officers searching for Darren Daley are handing out flyers in the city.

The 12-year-old was last seen at about 2030 BST in Woodhall Road, Colinton last Tuesday.

He has not been in touch with his friends or family since then. He is white, 4ft 11in tall, of small build with short dark hair.

He was last wearing a white Rangers FC top, jeans and white trainers.

He is known to travel around the city, frequenting George Street, Princes Street and North Bridge, as well as the Wester Hailes area and Westside Plaza.

A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: "It is now six days since Darren was last seen and, as such, we are keen to trace him as quickly as possible.

"We would ask for anyone who thinks they may have seen him in the past few days, or who has any information on his whereabouts, to contact police urgently."
