Head injuries for horse fall girl

The girl fell off a horse at Seacliff beach in East Lothian

A 12-year-old girl is being treated for head injuries after falling off a horse in East Lothian.

The girl was airlifted by helicopter to the Sick Childrens' Hospital in Edinburgh following the accident at Seacliff beach at 1110 BST.

The Raf helicopter was scrambled from Boulmer in Northumberland. It took her to a helipad in The Meadows in Edinburgh next to the hospital.

A helicopter was required because the site was difficult to access quickly.
