The family of a teenager who died following a serious attack in Midlothian has paid tribute to the "joker" who always made people laugh.

Daniel Hambleton, 19, from Dalkeith, died at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary at about 1420 BST on Sunday.

The attack happened in Kippielaw Park in Mayfield at 0200 BST on Saturday.

Two men, aged 47 and 24, have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. They are due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

A family statement reads: "Everybody who knew Danny knew what he was like. He was a joker and always made everybody laugh.

"He was only 19, and he loved us and has been taken from us unfairly."
