Princes Street
Motorists can park in Edinburgh for free on Christmas and Boxing Day

Parking will be free on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day in Edinburgh this year.

The move adds to the free parking in the city centre on weekdays from 1730 GMT and on Saturdays from 1300 GMT, until 10 January.

Parking restrictions will apply on 27, 28, 29 and 31 December and, also, on 2 and 3 January.

Sunday parking restrictions will still apply on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
