City nursery attacked by vandals

Lothian and Borders Police
The police are appealing for witnesses to the vandalism

Vandals who smashed three windows of an Edinburgh nursery before feeding a hosepipe into the building and turning it on are being sought by police.

The attack happened overnight between Sunday and Monday at Kidzcare Nursery in Grange Loan.

The damage to carpets and books is between about 500 and 1000.

A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: "This was a mindless act of vandalism, and we are extremely anxious for any information that can help us."

He added: "Anyone who was in the vicinity of Grange Loan between Sunday night and Monday morning, and saw anyone acting suspiciously or anything else out of the ordinary, should get in touch with police immediately."
