Second arrest in murder inquiry

Mark White
Police described Mr White as "a harmless young man".

Police have made a second arrest in connection with the death of a 31-year-old found in his Fife home.

A murder investigation was launched after the body of Mark White was found in Glenrothes on Thursday.

Fife police said Mr White suffered a "horrific ordeal" and his body might have lain undiscovered for some days.

Police said they had now arrested a second male, who will appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Monday along with a man who was held earlier.

Detective Chief Inspector Lee Dickson said inquiries were not yet exhausted and appealed to the public for more information.

Detective Superintendent Alistair McKeen said officers were keen to hear from any taxi drivers who had taken fares from the Altyre Avenue and Skibo Avenue areas of Glenrothes on Friday 21 November.

Mr White has been described by police as "a harmless young man, who despite his learning difficulties, led an independent, happy life".

His body was discovered after his father raised concerns when he did not get his regular weekly telephone call from his son.
