At least 11kg of amphetamine with a street value of more than £110,000 was seized in Fife at the weekend.

Police also recovered almost £8,000 pounds in cash during the raids at a house and an office in Kirkcaldy.

The operation brings the value of drugs recovered by the police in Fife to more than £750,000 in seven months.

A married couple are due to appear later at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on charges of possessing Class B drugs with the intent to supply.

Det Sgt Jonathan Peebles said: "Acting on community intelligence, we executed search warrants at two premises."

He added: "Reducing the availability of drugs within Fife is one of the major elements in the force's efforts in tackling crime and this major seizure has removed a large quantity of drugs from reaching the streets of our communities.

"I would encourage those within our communities who have knowledge of those dealing in drugs to contact us and we will take action."
