Driver crashes into traffic light

A man has been cut free from his vehicle after his car hit a set of traffic lights in Edinburgh.

The accident happened on the West Approach Road at about 2330 BST on Monday.

Firefighters from Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service managed to free him from his car using hydraulic cutting gear.

He was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with suspected broken legs. The road was closed for an hour.
