Youth arrested over city stabbing

An 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a stabbing in Edinburgh at the weekend.

The incident happened on Portland Street in the Leith area of the capital at about 0330 BST on Saturday.

Police said two men were injured after being repeatedly stabbed during the incident, which occurred close to the junction with North Forth Street.

Lothian and Borders police said inquiries are continuing and have appealed for witnesses to contact them.

The two victims, aged 36 and 38, suffered multiple stab wounds to the head and body.
