People charged over bad behaviour

Police have charged 11 people with a total of 22 offences including a breach of the peace in a behaviour crackdown.

Extra officers deployed on foot in the Levenmouth area of Fife over the past three weekends used stop and search powers on 37 different people.

The operation followed complaints about the behaviour of some local youths.

About 42 litres of alcohol were seized and five fixed penalty tickets for anti-social behaviour were issued by officers from Fife Constabulary.

Two youths were referred to the Drugs and Alcohol Project Levenmouth.

Ch Insp Andy Morris said: "The action is the latest in a series of measures carried out by Levenmouth police to deal with anti-social behaviour.

"As the long light of the summer nights continue so will our focused activity in areas which the public and our analytical information identifies as requiring attention."
