Emergency forces Boeing to land

A plane has been forced to make an emergency landing in Edinburgh following a "serious" medical emergency with one of its passengers.

A man was taken to hospital after the Delta Airlines Boeing 767 landed in the capital at about 1330 BST on Thursday.

The full flight of 216 passengers and 11 crew had been flying from Gatwick to Cincinnati when it was diverted.

The plane was due to continue on its journey once it had refuelled at about 1530 BST.
