A reconstruction of the last known movements of a missing West Lothian pensioner is to be conducted by police.

Mary Ferns, 88, has not been seen since 0930 BST on 17 June when she left her house in the Howden area of Livingston.

She was in possession of a distinctive blue walking stick with a pink floral design when she went missing.

Searches using dogs have been carried out along with a search of the River Almond. Checks of hospitals, hotels and CCTV footage have also been made.

A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: "We are extremely concerned for Mrs Ferns' safety and well being.

"We would urge anyone who has seen her since last Tuesday or has seen or picked up the walking stick to contact us immediately."

Mrs Ferns is deaf and partially blind. She is white, 5ft 3in tall, of slim build, with short, grey hair and green eyes.

She was last seen wearing a brown three-quarter-length jacket, a brown skirt and brown shoes.
