Man's arrest follows crime spree

A man has been arrested in Fife in connection with 15 offences ranging from housebreaking to attempted theft.

The 24-year-old was arrested following a spate of incidents in the Buckhaven area over a two month period.

Other crimes include thefts from motor vehicles. Officers said property valued at about £3,000 has been recovered.

Ch Insp Andy Morris said the arrest followed a tip-off from a member of the public. The man will now be reported to the procurator fiscal at Kirkcaldy.

He said: "The support of the local people has once again allowed my staff to instigate a number of successful enquiries into a number of outstanding crimes and for that my staff and I are extremely grateful.

"I would encourage the residents of the Levenmouth area to continue this level of support, which is contributing significantly to detecting and ultimately reducing crime in the area."
