Alison Geissler studies a piece of her glass engraving

The oldest surviving graduate of Edinburgh College of Art has returned to her former seat of learning for a special exhibition of her work.
At 101 years old, Alison Geisler is the same age as the college itself, which was founded in 1907.
Mrs Geisler went on to a career as an artist and glass engraver after studying at the college, where she also met her husband, William.
The pair knew some of the most famous Scottish artists of the 20th Century.
Mrs Geisler first attended the college in the 1920s to study fine art.

It has always been a very exciting place for me but it has grown enormously

She returned as World War II was coming to an end to study glass engraving.
Mrs Geisler told BBC Scotland how the art college had changed since she was a student.
"It has always been a very exciting place for me but it has grown enormously," she said.
"Even the subjects taught now are entirely different, they are a wide circle of the most interesting things."
Mrs Geisler said she had initially rejected suggestions that she should study art engraving at the college because she wanted to "splash about with colour".
But she added: "The man who was advising me was a bit upset that I was so rude, so I did try it for one day and discovered it was the very thing I needed.
"I fell in love with it from then on, so it was really a bit of luck."
