Work to create a new principal cemetery for Edinburgh which will serve the city for the next 50 years has begun.
About 5,000 grave spaces will be provided at the new six-acre site on Old Dalkeith Road.
The cemetery, which is within Craigmillar Castle Park, is due to be completed this Autumn.
Robert Aldridge, Edinburgh City Council's environment leader, wants the public to vote for a name for the new cemetery, inspired by local history.
The chosen name will be announced when the cemetery is formally dedicated later this year.
Cllr Aldridge said: "This new landmark deserves a fitting and dignified name that roots it firmly in the local area.
"We would like to hear from members of the public to see which name is most popular from the selection below.
"We would also be happy to consider any suitable alternative suggestions, provided they are appropriate."
Possible names for the new cemetery are: Craigmillar Castle Park Cemetery, Inch Park Cemetery or Sir Henry D. Littlejohn Cemetery.
To register your vote, send an email entitled 'Cemetery Name' to mortonhallcrematorium@edinburgh.gov.uk by 30 June.
