Police trying to find a gang of men who brutally raped a woman on Hogmanay are trying to trace two dog walkers.
The victim was attacked by three men during daylight hours in a quarry at Orebridge, near Thornton, Fife.
Enquiries have been under way to find anyone who was in the area at the time of the assault. Officers want to find two people who have not come forward.
They were both aged between 35 and 45. A car similar to a Renault Kangoo was also parked close-by at the time.
Det Chief Insp David Hardie said: "We remain frustrated that the police have been unable to trace two persons, a man and a woman who were seen in the area of the pond near to Balbeggie Avenue, Thornton, apparently walking a large white or light coloured dog on the afternoon of 31 December 2007.
"The female was seen to be carrying an umbrella and the couple may have come from a vehicle parked at the car park at Balbeggie Avenue."
In February, officers spent the day stopping vehicles close to the scene of the attack trying to find witnesses.
More than 500 vehicles were stopping in less than 24 hours.
House-to-house enquiries have also been carried out at every property in Thornton.
