Pedestrian killed by car is named
The police have named a woman who was killed when she was hit by a car in Fife.

Alexandra Elder, 67, died in the incident on Station Road, Auchtermuchty at about 1220 GMT on Thursday.

The road was closed for several hours to allow accident investigation work to be carried out at the scene.

Officers have been trying to trace the movements of a silver Vauxhall Corsa and a red BMW sports car around Dunshalt, Falkland and Auchtermuchty.

Anybody with information has been asked to contact Fife Constabulary.
