KT Tunstall to wed band's drummer

Singer KT Tunstall is to marry her drummer boyfriend after he proposed on Christmas Day.

The celebrity revealed on her website how boyfriend Luke Bullen surprised her by turning up at her adoptive parents' home in St Andrews to pop the question.

The drummer, who plays in Ms Tunstall's band, called her on Christmas Eve to say he was in Norwich with friends.

But he was actually in Edinburgh with her brother and appeared at her parents' home the following morning.

Ms Tunstall, 32, wrote on her website: "So, 1100 GMT on Christmas morning, the doorbell goes and it's Luke suited and booted. With all his bags. And a little box. Wrapped with a ribbon. He proposed."

She added: "Being an opportunist, I obviously said yes. It feels smashing. Keep an eye out for a little sparkle as I'm playing those chords."

Ms Tunstall said Mr Bullen, 34, had secretly visited her parents a month earlier to ask their permission.

The couple plan to marry this year.
