The fathers of two teenagers found dead at a house in Kent have said they would like to meet.

Vicky Hamilton, 15, who disappeared from West Lothian, and student Dinah McNicol, 18, of Tillingham, Essex both vanished in 1991.

Police found their remains last week at a house in Margate. Miss McNicol's father, Ian, said he and Vicky's father, Michael, had "much in common".

Peter Tobin, 61, has been committed for trial charged with the murder of Vicky.

Courage and admiration

"I don't know how to approach him but I would like to meet him," said Mr McNicol.

"If he wanted to get in touch, I'd be more than willing to talk to him.

"I saw him on television the other day, walking in front of Tobin's police wagon on the way to court. That took courage and I admire him for that."

He added: "Apart from both being Scots, our two daughters have been lying together for 16 years. If the dead can talk to each other, they must've been having a good natter."

Mr Hamilton said: "I've been getting a bit run down but I'd like to do it. It's definitely an option."
