Three killed in road crash named
Ally Caird, James Rankin and David Rodger
Ally Caird, James Rankin and David Rodger were all from Fife
Police have released the names of three men killed in a car crash in Fife.

The men, all from central Fife, were involved in a crash on the B925 Kirkcaldy to Auchtertool road at about 2130 GMT on Friday.

A Fife Constabulary spokesman said no other vehicles were involved in the accident.

The three men were Ally Caird, 21, from Auchtertool, James Rankin, 21, from Cowdenbeath and David Rodger, 20, from Lochgelly, Fife Constabulary said.

Two of the men died at the scene and the third was taken to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy but died a short time later.

Police have appealed for witnesses who may have seen the black Honda Civic before the accident to contact them.

'Lovely son'

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Mr Caird's family described him as a "much loved son, brother and boyfriend" who would be greatly missed.

The parents of Mr Rodger said he was a "lovely son and a great brother who was truly loved by all of our family and will be missed by us forever".

Alan Burnett, Fife Constabulary's Assistant Chief Constable, said: "Our inquiries are ongoing but you just have to look at the scene to see speed was a factor.

"I would make an appeal to young drivers. They have to start taking responsibility for their own actions and the lives of the people in their vehicles."
