Edinburgh Rat Race thrills city

Hundreds of extreme sports enthusiasts have spent the weekend on the streets of Edinburgh competing in an urban adventure race.

Rat Race competitors faced two courses, designed to test their physical and mental stamina.

The events included running, cycling, kayaking, abseiling and climbing. On Sunday the teams took part in a gruelling endurance course.

Competitors came from as far as Trinidad and Tobago to take part.
