Teacher suspended for second time
Mike Barile
Mike Barile had been reinstated after a previous incident
A teacher who was suspended and then reinstated has been suspended for a second time by his St Andrews school after an alleged assault.

Mike Barile, 49, was involved in an incident in September involving a pupil. It divided staff at Madras College and is still to be resolved.

The maths teacher from Dundee was later reinstated.

Fife Constabulary said a 49-year-old man had been charged in connection with an alleged assault on 10 November.

It is understood the new suspension does not relate to the previous case.

Fife Council would only confirm that a teacher had been suspended from the school pending an investigation.

A Fife Constabulary spokesman said: "A 49-year-old man has been charged with an alleged assault at Madras College on Friday, 10 November.

"A report is due to be sent to the procurator fiscal."

Mr Barile is an associate director with Dundee United Football Club.
