Mr Jamieson is expected to undergo more surgery
A city council street sweeper suffered a serious hand injury when a firework exploded at a cleansing depot.

Peter Jamieson, 44, of Wallyford in East Lothian, was taken from Edinburgh Royal Infirmary to a burns unit at St John's Hospital in Livingston.

He endured a 12-hour operation and is expected to undergo more surgery.

The incident happened at Seafield cleansing depot on Tuesday and the circumstances are being investigated, the council said.

Mr Jamieson's fingers had to be sewn back on to his hand following the incident.
