Dead man's family is 'devastated'

The family of Craig Archer thanked the local community
The family of a man who was killed at the weekend have spoken of their devastation.

Craig Archer, 24, died following an alleged assault at Cluny Place, Glamis, Glenrothes at 1830 BST on Saturday.

In a statement issued by Fife Police, the family of the Glenrothes father-of-one said: We are devastated by what has happened."

Three men have been arrested in connection with the death and are expected to appear in court on Tuesday.

The family thanked Mr Archer's friends and the local community for their "help and support".

Detective Inspector Stuart Welsh said the police were still appealing for anyone with information about the attack to contact them.

He said: "We have received reports that a group of young men were allegedly displaying aggressive behaviour towards other people in and around the shopping centre prior to the incident.

"We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was involved in this or witnessed it."
