Footballer appears on gun charge
A Hearts footballer has appeared in court charged with being in possession of a loaded firearm.

Lee Wallace, 19, appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court accused of having a gun in the city's Sighthill Green earlier this month.

The player, who lives in Carrick Knowe Parkway, Edinburgh, is alleged to have been in possession of the weapon on 4 August.

He made no plea and was bailed to appear in court again next Wednesday.

The defender, who is also part of Scotland's under-19 team, is regarded as one of Hearts up and coming first team squad players.
