Moira Stuart's grandparents met at Edinburgh University
The journalist and broadcaster Moira Stuart is to receive an honorary degree at Edinburgh University.

The BBC news presenter is to be presented with the accolade at the McEwan Hall in the city's Bristo Square on Friday at about 1100 BST.

Ms Stuart's maternal grandparents, both from the Caribbean, met while they were studying medicine at Edinburgh University.

The degree of Doctor honoris causa will be conferred at the ceremony.
