Woman dies after Fife road crash

Police have appealed for witnesses to the collision to come forward
A 21-year-old woman has died and the male driver she was travelling with has been seriously injured after a car crash involving a lorry in Kirkcaldy.

Fife Constabulary said the collision happened on the A915 Kirkcaldy to Leven Road at about 1800 BST on Thursday.

Gail Robertson, from Glasgow, who was travelling in a Vauxhall Frontera car was pronounced dead at the scene, while the car driver suffered head injuries.

The lorry driver received hospital treatment for minor back injuries.

The road was closed between the Gallatown and Borland roundabouts.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision near the Boreland Industrial Estate to contact them.
