Man charged over fatal car crash

A man has been charged over a three-car crash in Clackmannanshire which left one woman dead and two others injured.

The crash happened at about 1830 GMT on Saturday on the A908 between Benview and Devonside.

Rachael Ward, 20, from Tillicoultry, died when her Citroen Saxo collided with a Vauxhall Astra.

The two occupants of the Astra are in hospital. The 20-year-old driver of the third vehicle, a Vauxhall Vectra, was charged over the incident.

The condition of the 27-year-old male driver of the Astra and his 17-year-old female passenger is said to be stable.

The 27-year-old has also been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

Central Scotland Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
